The main procuring facility of the plant is foundry, which includes mixing, molding, melting, casting, cropping, thermal and model areas.
The quick-hardening molding sand mixtures and core sand mixture in M12 mixing runners are prepared at the mixing area. Raw materials for molding sands mixtures are lean sands of different size from two sandpits; molding clay; liquid glass; caustic soda; binding material – lignosulphonate technical powder (LSTP); asphalt lacquer; Radol weakening additive. The sands are dried in a drum drier (residual moisture less than 0.5%) and sifted through polygonal sieve. Molding clay is used as an aqueous emulsion with density of 0.3 g/cm, liquid glass – density of 1,48-1,50 g/cm and modulus 2.6-2.9. Before reusing the used sand is also sifted through the polygonal sieve. Scrap and dense clods are removed. The ready mix is checked by express central plant laboratory for moisture, gas permeability, green compressive strength and strength after carbonation.
Molding medium-size serial parts is done using mod.267M molding machines, large-size parts are molded at the hand molding area. The factory has an extensive range of flask tools, allowing casting the products with dimensions up to 2800 x 2000 x 700mm.
Melting area is equipped with two arc furnaces DSP-4M with acid and basic lining. Own low-carbon industrial waste and metal scrap from external parties are used as a furnace charge, ferrous materials from the leading Ukrainian ferroalloy plants only are used.
PJSC Betonmash has technological possibilities and experience to manufacture casting weighting 2 kg to 5000kg of the following steel grades (according to GOST 977-88, GOST 4543-71)
• carbon steel (St.25L, St.35L, St.45L, St.50L);
• alloy steel (20…40HL, 35 HL, 35 HML, 30GSL, 35 HGSL etc.);
• high alloy steel (20H13L, 20HN2ML, 20H2N4L, 20H25N19S2L etc.).
Sulphur /phosphor content up to 0.03%. Chemical content is controlled during melting by means of a spectrograph and chemical express-analysis.
High-quality cropping of the cast details, shot-peening and sandblasting allow getting good-looking casting of high quality. All cast details regardless of dimensions are thermally treated – bogie-type gas furnace annealing.
Model area of PJSC Betonmash is equipped with special-purpose woodworking equipment and ensures quick production of models regardless of their difficulty level.
